Best Foundations/Tinted Moisturizers

Here is a quick review of some of my favorite foundations, as well as tinted moisturizers if you're looking for a little less coverage.
First is Mac's Studio Moisture Tint with SPF 15. This is pretty light coverage since it is a tinted moisturizer, but it is good for just simply evening out your skin tone. It comes in a number of shades from Light to Deep Dark. It has a smooth application and a nice clean scent. The scent is actually one of my favorite parts because it just smells clean and natural. I like this in the summer when your skin feels good enough where you just need tinted moisturizer and not so many layers. Also, its good for people just starting out with makeup who want a natural look that still does the job right.
Next is Neutrogena's Skin Clearing Liquid Makeup. This also gives a natural look with a bit more coverage. This foundation is formulated with salicylic acid which will work towards clearing your skin while you wear the makeup. This is also good for people who may not neccisarily have an acne problem but just want a liquid makeup that isn't going to break you out. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality drug store foundation that does wonders for your skin. (And yes, it actually works like it says it does!)
Next is Bare Minerals and there is a lot of speculation about this system because many people don;t believe that a powder foundation can offer you the coverage you need. Bare Minerals does offer a fairly good amount of coverage without looking like a powder face. You begin with the foundation powder, then finish with the mineral veil. The mineral veil is the real secret weapon of this system because while it wasn't made to offer any real coverage, it is applied to eliminate any excess oil. This allows your makeup to stay much longer then it would have if you just used the foundation. The system can be a bit pricey, and it's definitely one of those things where either you love it or you hate it. I think the best part about this system is how good it is for your skin. It's so light on your skin and doesn't cause you to break out.
Finally, is Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse. I personally agree with Maybelline's statement that it's like airbrush perfection. This foundation comes in a glass pump bottle and in my opinion it's absolutely amazing. I find that it really does perfect your skin and feels fairly light on the skin. It's very easy to get, and not too pricey. It's a great drugstore foundation.
That's all for now,

Springtime Florals!

Now that spring is on its way I am excited to be able to wear florals again! My favorite look is the blouse with a nice floral skirt. You can even switch it up a bit by having a floral shirt and a more masculine fabric on the bottom. Pairing this look with accessories such as hats, a bag, or even from flats to heels it is a pure success! This is a classic and romantic look that I have been craving to wear! Whether you are going to school/class and want to pair this look with ballet flats or wear a nice wedge or heel to dress it up for dinner - this is a classy spring look that is timeless.

Two Faced Eye Shadow Duo

My current favorite eye shadow brand is Two Faced, and it is in part because of their amazing color selection. The shadows are also very pigmented and stay very well. Some of my favorite colors in the Two Faced line are Erotica which is the chocolate brown color to the right, as well as Silk Teddy which is the creamy pink to the right. They come in a duo together, which is typically priced at around $17.00. These duos are great, but if you are a huge fan and would like the total Two Faced experience then i suggest buying the Natural Eye Kit. This includes the colors Heaven, Velvet Revolver, Sexspresso, Silk Teddy, Push-Up, Erotica, Nude Beach, Honey Pot, and Cocoa Puff. One of my other favorite colors is Honey Pot which is deep gold. Almost all of the Two Faced shadows had a slight shimmer to them, just enough to look glamorous, but not too much where it looks very unnatural. This eye kit is priced at just $35.00 and comes with a sponge brush, as well as three instruction cards. These cards include step by step instructions on how to get a Day look, Fashion look, and a Classic look.

Mac Haut and Naughtey Lash Mascara Review (and Tip!**)

REVIEW

Mac's latest mascara, Haut and Naughty Lash, is unique due to the fact that you can choose the brush. This mascara offers two different wands, both available by twisting off a certain level. The pink level is for a more combed through look, less dramatic, but very defined lashes. The sparkly purple level offers a very dramatic look but your lashes do lack some definition. Something you may not have realized before is that it is actually the same brush being used in both levels. If this is true, then how are the results so different for both brushes? Well, there is a stopper on the inside of the tube of mascara, and depending how which brush you pull out, will dictate how much mascara is removed from the wand. For example, if you twist out the pink wand, the stopper will remove more of the formula off of the brush resulting in a less dramatic effect on your lashes.
My Review
I did not immediately fall in love with this mascara because I found that the pink level was not dramatic enough for me and that the purple level was way too clumpy. I actually pushed aside this mascara and tried some drug store options. I quickly came back to my Mac H&N Lash because compared to all the other mascaras I had tried; it has given my lashes the most dramatic look. I began practicing with this mascara more and found that the problem was not with the mascara itself but in the way I was applying it. A Mac consultant actually gave me this tip and it’s really changed my prospective of this mascara. (TIP ALERT!!!) The consultant told me to first use the purple level to achieve the drama I was looking for. Next, use the pink level to comb through the lashes, taking away a large majority of the excess formula. My lashes are noticeably more dramatic now and I now highly recommend this mascara.
This mascara is available at Mac retailers, as well as online, for $18.00

Layered Necklaces

Necklaces are a great accessory, so why not double them up? Or triple them up? Why not go crazy and wear dozens of necklaces? Well according to Coco Chanel, who's about as wise as they get, you should put on all the jewelry you want to wear for the day then take two off. Not to disregard the ideas of Mrs.Chanel, but I'm all for over dosing on the necklaces. It's quite a tricky trend to handle, and there are a number of rules you should be sure to follow.
The Rules Of Layering Necklaces
1) The necklaces must all be gold or silver, this is not the time to clash.
2)The necklaces should all be of different lengths. You ruin the look if you wear 30 necklaces of the same length. You have to make sure each necklace gets to be seen.
3)Your outfit has to be L.N (layered necklace) worthy. You shouldn't match this trend with just a normal t-shirt. You can wear it with a suite jacket like Rhianna (see picture) or a simple sundress. Personally, my favorite way to wear this look is with a vintage concert t-shirt because together it produces a very edgy look. I've also tried this look by taking an old over sized concert t-shirt and cutting off the collar. This will make the t-shirt fall naturally off one shoulder, bringing back a big 80's trend. To then throw on some layered necklaces would only add to this outfit.
4)Don't add just for the sake of adding. As much as I encourage you adding as many necklaces as your little heart desires, you should know there is a limit. The objective is to look good, so when you feel like it looks good STOP adding necklaces. Don't add another necklace if you think it's too much. This trend is very customizable. You can adjust it to your personal taste and level of craziness. If your really into the classic look, very put together and timeless then going with a gold color scheme is perfect. Try old fashion compasses, clocks, and chains. If your into the romantic look try layering pearls as shown on Rhianna (above) and if your dramatic and edgy try a silver color scheme. Go for owl pendants and anything flashy.
Good luck with this trend, and post any questions down below.
